2016: Promise of a bright tomorrow…🌅

img_0783-1The year 2016 hopefully holds the promise of a bright tomorrow. None of us really knows what the future holds and we must live life to the fullest while we can.

I don’t advocate making New Year’s resolutions because, in my experience, they are doomed to be broken within the first weeks of the new year. Instead, in the coming year, I pray for good health and have a set a few achievable tasks, goals and challenges that I will work on in a timely manner. I’m older and wiser now so I’m giving myself enough time (12 months) and headspace to grow.

So, here goes…In the next year, I will work smarter and play harder. I know it sounds a bit cliché but I will spend quality time with my loved ones and live in the moment! More ‘me time’ is definitely on the cards while I will be mindful to bring hope to the hopeless and joy to the downhearted.

A big challenge will be to focus a lot more on progressing with my PhD. If you see less or hear less from me on social media in 2016, that’s where I’ll be…#GetThatPhD. It’s really easy for us to be distracted from your goals, so we must all work together to keep each other focused. Each one help one, I say! There’s plenty of room for all of us to succeed as long as we run our own race. Remember, comparison is the thief of joy!

I will count my blessings one by one and be even more patient with myself and others. If I ever forget how blessed I am, I hope someone will have the heart to ‘have a word’ to remind me how blessed I really am.

In 2016, I will be the best me that I can be. So, let’s make a date to check in on each other to see how we progress with our plans during the coming year. Promise of a bright tomorrow, indeed! Join me at The Human Touch!💖✍🏾blog: http://www.nicholemcintosh.wordpress.com #CaringLearningInspiring
