Stand tall

If there are lessons I could tell my younger self, it would be,

You are taller than your height.

Approach life with confidence and keep your eyes on the light.

The light will sometimes fade, yet with faith you’ll know that it’s still there.

So, stand tall and go forth with confidence.

Remember that life ain’t gonna be easy.

Bear in mind that life ain’t always gonna be fair.

And also that life ain’t gonna be a walk in the park,

In spite of all this, still you must trod through the dark.

So, stand tall and go forth with eyes that have a spark.

Walk into the light that has now been reignited.

It helps to have a joyful heart and be a bit excited.

Excited by the opportunities to grow taller than your height.

Taller than you could ever have imagined you could be.

So, stand tall and go forth with a smile.😊

And when opportunities come your way, grab them with both hands.

Don’t shy away into the background, I know what you’re like.

Step forward, pick up your crown and shine like a star. ⭐️

With an attitude filled with gratitude, you’ll go far.

As far as your mind will allow you to dream.

So, stand tall and go forth with vigour.

Your sense of humour will make others gravitate to you.

Don’t keep your wit to yourself, that would just be selfish.

The world needs to laugh more, so light up those around you.

And when you feel overwhelmed, surround yourself with a small and trusted crew.

They will help to pick you up and to once again focus on that, yet again, faded light.

So, stand tall young one, go forth with your Caribbean flair and inspire others to stand tall too! 🙌🏽❤️💃🏽
