Day Fifteen of Blogging University: Create New Posting Features

The past 15 days in Blogging 101 have been enlightening. It has been a great learning experience to network with fellow bloggers, interact with a wider audience and, of course, gain new followers. The last task in Blogging 101 is to create a new feature for my blog. Creating a regular blog feature will provide my readers with something to look forward to at regular intervals.

Well, what’s my new blog feature going to be? My tag line is ‘honest reflections of working, pursuing a PhD and living positively! #CaringLearningInspiring’, so my new feature needs to fit nicely under this. Decisions, decisions, decisions…

After reading a few ideas that other bloggers had, I have decided that one of my new blog features will be called Positive Vibes. I’m an island girl at heart, so positive vibes is something that I have first hand experience of in Jamaica. Positive Vibes will be a weekly roundup of my thoughts and experiences which will comprise a variety of chillax music, gems, quotes and brief reflections on life in general. Each Positive Vibes post will fit under the positive, compassionate living theme.

I’m working on other features and the main one I’m toying with at the moment is a regular PhD update called PhD Buzz. This will be monthly and will be a brief, snazzy, jargon-free update on what stage of my research journey I’ve reached and inspiration for others in their own learning journey – PhD not mandatory, so come as you are. I need all the motivation I can get to stay focused, so PhD Buzz will be a lovely way to stay connected with my readers as we learn and grow together. More to come on PhD Buzz in February after I face my registration panelπŸ˜¬πŸ™.

Analysis of my blog stats has identified that the most popular day of the week for my blog is Sunday. So, that’s when I’ll publish Positive Vibes. Why not put those stats to good use?!

I’m off to collate my first Positive Vibes post – if you get a chance, please check in on Sunday to have a read. Hope you’ll like it. πŸ˜‰
