The Enlightened

I’m taking a sabbatical from the ‘Positive Vibes’ weekly feature post this week to share some thoughts on life and choosing to live positively. As someone said recently, “we don’t always get a chance to choose our path in life. We choose how to live it”. These wise words were spoken by a man who was wrongly incarcerated for 16 years. Instead of being bitter upon his eventual release from prison or about his life’s path, he instead chose how to live it. He chose to be positive and to spend his life doing good.

Being positive is a mindset that we have to choose. None of our lives are perfect, no matter what others presume from the outside looking in. Everyone has trials, challenges, dramas and insecurities. The defining issue is how we respond to these and whether you see the glass as being half full, half empty or whether you see no glass at all!

For me, I’m just grateful that there is a glass even if it’s an empty glass. An empty glass is like a blank canvas for me. It’s a chance to make a fresh start. A chance to reinvent myself. A chance to change how others see me. Just when people think they have me sussed, bang!, I like to do the unexpected. Variety is the spice of life, I say. How unpredictable, how exciting!

Count your blessings one by one and you’ll find the strength to persevere and overcome any obstacles. It’s important as well to surround yourself with people who are prepared to challenge you and say, ‘what’s wrong with you?’ or ‘why did you do that?’ or even ‘let me help you do …x…or whatever it is you need to do’. Yes, you need some lions who are on the same mission as you to keep you focused and determined. You need to be part of the pride.👇

I love the saying “every time you find the humour in a difficult situation, you win”. We must try to always do this, as hard as it is to do it in reality. It may sometimes need some time and space to see the humour in difficult situations, so be patient.

Until next time, live positively, do good and be kind to yourself and each other.😘

Peace✌
