Speaking and listening: so much more than words

One of my aims in life is is to be heard for what I passionately believe in which is that everyone adds value and brings something useful to the table. In achieving this aim, there are challenges to overcome. In the society and indeed the global village that we live in, what happens in one part of the world inevitably, and at times, regrettably impacts on others many miles away. Recent political events in the United Kingdom and the United States of America are just two examples that spring to my mind that will have a huge impact on many lives near and far.

In my own circle of influence, I consciously choose to live this quote. I choose to “speak in such a way that others love to listen to you. Listen in such a way that others love to speak to you”. You’ll see it in my dealings with people, in my social media posts and tweets. It is far more productive to  build bridges and alliances by applying this. Taking people with you is essential to achieving change and growth. No man is an island, no man stands alone. We need each other. We really do.

Most times it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it.💡 The pill is easier to swallow if it is given with kindness, empathy and compassion. Don’t I know it!

I therefore urge you all to try to apply this quote to your life in some way and see how it transforms your outlook on life, your image and your reputation. Let me know how you get on. The world will be a better place if we all did this every chance we get.

What do you think? I am listening.😊❤️
