Healing and Growing…

This World Poetry Day, I take a few minutes to pause and reflect.

On my life’s journey and being the best me even if it is not what others expect.

Living a life of service to others is most gratifying.

It is the giving, not the receiving, that I find most satisfying.

I spent years running away from my thoughts and embracing my fears.

Many years in which my response to life’s challenges were tears.

Not anymore, I now choose happiness and counting my blessings.

I also choose to share these experiences so others can learn from my lessons.

There is much to live for, much to offer, much to do to make the world a better place.

This World Poetry Day, I pause and reflect on how we can be a kinder human race.

PS. It’s also the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
